Land Cruisers built for Tanzanian roads, hired with unlimited mileage anywhere in the country — and across the border when the paperwork is arranged in advance.
Tanzania is a very large country with a small amount of tarmac. The distance from Mwanza to Dar es Salaam is over eleven hundred kilometres, a good part of the northern circuit is gravel, and in the wet season a road that was fine in August becomes something else entirely in April. The vehicle you choose matters far more here than it does in a country where everything is paved.
That is why the fleet is what it is: Land Cruiser Prados, 70-, 100-, 200- and 300-series, Hilux and Ranger double cabs. Full-time 4WD with low range, high ground clearance, long-range tanks on the long-distance cars, and a service book stamped every five thousand kilometres at a certified Toyota workshop. The Alphards, Vellfires, Noahs and Hiaces exist for tarmac, airports and hotels, and we will tell you plainly when one of those is the wrong car for your route.
Mileage is unlimited within Tanzania — there is no per-kilometre meter running in the back of your mind. Every vehicle carries comprehensive insurance and third-party cover as Tanzanian law requires, with an optional excess-reduction waiver at booking if you want to cut your liability further.
Cross-border travel to Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda and Burundi is possible but has to be arranged before you travel so we can prepare the COMESA insurance and the carnet paperwork. There is a supplement, and we quote it up front.
No per-kilometre charge anywhere inside the country. Drive the route the trip actually needs.
Not soft-roaders with a badge. Full-time four-wheel drive, low range and the clearance for wet-season gravel.
Full cover and third-party as Tanzanian law requires, with an optional excess waiver at booking.
Certified Toyota workshop, genuine parts, book stamped. Partner workshops in Mwanza, Shinyanga, Arusha and Dodoma.
Every vehicle is available self-drive or with a professional driver. Rates are quoted per trip — tell us the dates and the route.

Yes. You need your national licence held for at least two years plus an International Driving Permit. If you do not have an IDP we can arrange a temporary Tanzanian permit for you, usually inside a day.
Within Tanzania, yes — there is no per-kilometre charge. Cross-border trips are quoted separately because of the insurance and carnet paperwork.
One-way hires to Arusha, Dodoma, Dar es Salaam and Kigoma are possible. There is a repositioning fee to bring the vehicle home, and we quote that number before you book.
For tarmac between cities, a Prado or an LC 200 is comfortable and economical enough. For gravel, wet season or remote district work, the 70-series or a Hilux double cab is the honest answer. Tell us the route and we will recommend one — including when the cheaper car is the right one.
Call the 24/7 number. We carry spares for the common items and have partner workshops in Mwanza, Shinyanga, Arusha and Dodoma. If a vehicle cannot be fixed the same day we send a replacement to wherever you are.
